My Approach
My approach begins with a large conceptual base (kinesiology degree) and a mentality that excludes nothing without first giving it an honest effort. I then train and study under individuals who have spent their lives passionately dissecting, improving, and coaching specific physical disciplines, skills, arts etc. (barbell sports, traditional and non-traditional martial arts, board sports, ball sports, athletic movement, general human movement, physical therapy, spine injuries, gait, dance, circus arts, yoga, group exercise, athletic training, climbing, clubbells, kettlebells etc.). They have spent their lives testing and refining their specific practices. Although this condenses years of work, trial, and error for me, I have to try the methods and practices for myself to truly understand their value and how they fit in with everything else.
Understanding where each of these individuals is coming from, why and how they do what they do provides me with an ever-growing understanding of the body as well as increases my teaching ability. It also provides me with a toolbox of unique solutions and approaches to widen my ability to help my clients not only achieve their desired results, but also include exploration, new skills, longevity and injury prevention (usually at the same time). On top of that this understanding rubs off on my clients, progressively making them self-sufficient, which is my end goal.
